Gina Carano VS. Kelly Kobold!

September 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Make sure to watch Elite XC this weekend live on CBS!  I spent the past six weeks helping Gina prepare for Kelly Kobold. Out of her last three fights, this is the best shape I’ve seen Gina in.  I look forward to seeing her hard work pay off.

Seminar at Hurley High School!

September 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

This past weekend I travelled to Hurley, WI to do a seminar on athletic performance training.  I spent time discussing the importance of functional training for athletics, speed/strength training, plyometrics, youth training guidelines, and nutrition.  I want to thank the Hurley High School for having me, and Nick Erickson  for helping me with demonstrations.

Jay Hieron Prepares For Bryson Kamaka!

September 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

IFL welterweight champion Jay Hieron is set to fight Bryson Kamaka on October 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.  Jay hasn’t fought since April 4th when he defended his IFL title against Mark Miller.  Hieron stopped Miller in round one by TKO.  Since then, the IFL organization has folded and Jay has been waiting to fight.  Since Jay’s fight in April, he’s been doing a lot of strength training with me.  For the last two weeks his workouts have converted more towards cardio/endurance.  I’ve been privileged to train some great fighters, and Jay is one of the hardest workers I’ve ever seen.  These are some pictures (from this morning) of Jay going through endurance ciruits.

UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture will be back inside the octagon to fight Brock Lesnar on November 15th.  Training camp with me started this morning at 8 a.m.  We have eleven weeks to prepare for the fight.  You can already feel the intensity within the gym.  I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
